'The L Word: Generation Q' Trailer: Showtime Gives First Glimpse At The Return Of The Groundbreaking Drama - Deadline
Showtime has released the first teaser trailer for the forthcoming The L Word: Generation Q and there are a lot of familiar faces — and some new ones. The sequel to the popular LGBTQ series is set to premiere on the premium cabler December 8, but while you wait you can enjoy the new L.A. sun-kissed trailer which gives us a tease of what’s to come.
After airing on Showtime from 2004-2009, The L Word is now back a decade later with eight episodes and continues to follow the intermingled lives of Bette Porter (Jennifer Beals), Alice Pieszecki (Leisha Hailey) and Shane McCutcheon (Katherine Moennig), along with new characters Dani Nùñez (Arienne Mandi), Micah Lee (Leo Sheng), Finley (Jacqueline Toboni), Sophie Suarez (Rosanny Zayas) and Gigi (Sepideh Moafi). The series follows their journeys through love, heartbreak, sex, setbacks and success in Los Angeles. The trailer doesn’t give us too much to chew — but it does give us reunions, sexiness and some snark.
The series is currently in production and will feature guest stars include Brian Michael, Stephanie Allyne, Olivia Thirlby, Fortune Feimster and Latarsha Rose. The series is executive produced by showrunner Marja-Lewis Ryan (The Four-Faced Liar, 6 Balloons), with series creator Ilene Chaiken, Kristen Campo, Steph Green (pilot), and original series stars Beals, Moennig and Hailey.
