Dragged down by declines for shares of Walt Disney and Home Depot, the Dow Jones Industrial Average is falling Thursday afternoon. Shares of Walt Disney DIS, -2.56% and Home Depot HD, -1.17% are contributing to the blue-chip gauge's intraday decline, as the Dow DJIA, -0.19% was most recently trading 72 points, or 0.3%, lower. Walt Disney's shares are down $3.58 (2.6%) while those of Home Depot have declined $2.69, or 1.2%, combining for a roughly 43-point drag on the Dow. Also contributing significantly to the decline are American Express AXP, -0.80%, Goldman Sachs GS, -0.85%, and Exxon Mobil XOM, -0.67%. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the benchmark equates to a 6.78-point swing.
